Just keep….

Posted by shrinkurbill on December 13, 2010

Just keep… Now what word could you fill in the blank? Sleeping, swimming (to borrow a phrase from Dory) or going? There are obviously many more words to fill that gap, have you reached a point in life where you feel there maybe a gap to be filled?

What can you do about it?

Obviously realising there is a gap is step 1 however many people just stay at step 1.

For anything to progress or evolve the main key to the progress is to ‘do’ something. Even if the something doesn’t work the way you planned or you just didn’t like you have to feel some pride and positivity that you went further than a lot of people.

Now you may have to go ‘back to the drawing board’ or back to step 1, at least you are now there better equipped than before as you now have new experiences and new ideas.

Also a good place to start is the treasure trove that is contained in thousands of books, all over the internet and even talking or discussing things with people you may feel might be able to help you.

Just to recap, there is no problem having to go back to the start but you have to keep… Trying, going and beleiving before you will be achieving those great things that you have dreamed of.

Back up and running

Posted by shrinkurbill on November 15, 2010

After a nice couple of hundred miles ran in 2009, 2 x 10k races, 1 x half marathon and 2 x trail runs I had the running bug… then winter came in more ways than just seasonal, work stresses and I lost focus.
Why is it when we know what is the right thing to do and yet we do not seem to do it?
I think the key is in what a lot of famous motivational speakers have said “you can remain on course for your goals if you have a big enough ‘why'”
What is your ‘why?’ I feel even though it has taken a year or so I finally feel like I have found my ‘why’ or my reason is to truely make a positive difference in the lives of as many people as possible including my family, friends, work colleagues and friends I’ve not yet met. To finish on a question “why not?”
What is your why or your reason for keeping on track for your goals.

How is the rat race?

Posted by shrinkurbill on June 5, 2010

Hi, welcome back!

I have thought about this blog for a couple of days, what kept coming to me was the idea of how comfortable I was when I was stuck in the drudgery of the “rat race” I am sure you do not need me to explain what that phrase means to me, but I am confident you know.

I feel the strongest direction we need to follow is the direction that feels comfortable to us, not necessarily what is financially feasible. this will take some time to think through. What we actually need to do is spend some time with the people we love and with the people that mean the most to us and the decipher what is the “right” thing to do.

There are occasions when an opportunity will arise to us, these opportunities can sometimes seem “too good to be true” or you may get the feeling “stuff always goes wrong” – the solution is within the next question… is it worth taking a step into the unknown which may involve a risk, but, hey might dramatically improve your future?

I am sure there are many obstacles still in my path but as John Wooden said “Adversity is the state in which man mostly easily becomes acquainted with himself, being especially free of admirers then.”

Are you happy in the rat race or is it possibly worth the risk to face adversity?

What do you do when you come to an obstacle?

Posted by shrinkurbill on May 29, 2010

Hey thanks for checking out our blog again!

I have been thinking, we all have situations arise in our lives where we feel an obstacle has just appeared in our path, i’m sure you’ll agree?

I do also strongly feel that where we are emotionally, spiritually and physiologically determines our response to afore mentioned obstacle. if I may use an example from my life, I have been in a job where I enjoy the work however I constantly feel inferior to no real benchmark. I hope that makes sense?

So to me I was working hard trying to hit goals which I thought were there when in fact the goals I was aiming for were nowhere… slight problem! (my obstacle)

I had not considered anything else apart from plodding on thinking ‘i’m sure things will work out’ and ‘i’m sure it’ll get better’ (always the positive thinker eh?) After a conversation with my wife and a close friend I realised life is too short just to “plod along.” Infact plodding along did not help me get around the obstacle, it just infact, delayed the inevitable.

I had actually found and overcame the obstacle (for me anyway)! I now have a new set of goals, new drive, more motivation and am already much happier, now please do not get me wrong i’m not saying go quit your job it’ll all be great!, what I am saying is the obstacles are there for a specific reason and please be assured it’s not to create misery, it is in fact for us to learn from.

Any obstacle or negative event is there for us to draw some learning, experience or some kind of positive from it, why else would it be in our way?

I am sure if you just change your thinking about a certain situation or series of events there is without fail something that you can learn from, I have already (in a previous blog) commented about Edison who took over 6,000 attempts at making a lightbulb that would glow longe than a few seconds, why did he carry on? He had a goal of what he wanted and he would not let any obstacle (not even 6,000) get in his way! Get around your obstacles, take a step back or a step to the side! Maybe even stop what your doing and just think about how you will overcome this problem or challenge as I prefer to call them.

This is definitely the way I want to look at the obstacles that will appear, after all you only truly fail when you stop trying, don’t you agree?

Are we stupid?

Posted by shrinkurbill on May 27, 2010

I am sat watching ‘Question time’ and i’m not sure if it’s only me, but i truely feel amazed at the way the politicians representing the main parties seem to argue between themselves and to try and so obviously score cheap points off each other, when at the end of the day they have control of our futures???? well to a certain extent anyway.

I can’t help but feel like they ‘the polititians (all parties) find point scoring rather than goal acheiving is the main goal, well I personally feel the right way is to empower people by giving them the tools and skills to progress and make the world the place it should be!

Don’t you agree, regardless of religious, spiritual or any other beleif or ethic or political slant surely we should be able to encourage each other and work together to make the world a better place for everyone,  not just te select few! sorry guys i’ll dismount my soapbox now….

Is it possible to earn from home?

Posted by shrinkurbill on May 24, 2010

If you type ‘earn from home’  into google there are approximate 90,000,000 results. Now how do you know what is right for you and your situation, what is maybe wrong for your situation and most importantly what is a real genuine legitimate home based business.

There are many different kinds of home business ranging from paid online surveys, clickbank systems, ebay, mailing and typing systems. It is so easy to get very lost within this search. One of the most popular systems is mlm or ‘multi level marketing’ also called ‘network marketing’

Many people have varying knowledge of mlm/network marketing, unfortunately also many people confuse these systems  with illegal pyramid schemes or pyramid scams.

Basically there is a huge difference between the 2 systems now just to touch on to explain the main differences the ‘pyramid system’ was a system set up where people would pay out for a product/item/idea (a lot of the time the products were not a tangible consumable product) and they would only be able to make money by getting others to do the same. In effect selling an idea that had no real value hence the people at the top of the chain or pyramid were the only ones who could make any real money this is why they are now illegal in many countries.

Now the reason I am so excited about mlm/network marketing is that it is a proven system that can really change peoples lives by doing little bits, often around their current commitments (work, family, life in general) by providing their customers with a fantastic product (a lot more money is spent by network marketing companies in researching their products than many standard companies for many reasons)

The main 1 I personally think is that they don’t spend out on advertising as their mlm/network marketing distributors/ representatives do that by showing people the products and or services to which they then decide to purchase or not.

There are approximately 67 million mlm distributors worldwide and this number is growing all the time as this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone in most cases full training is provided by the company and successful distributors within the business. Now let me ask you a question, please tell me of any other business where business partners genuinely want to help others get on? it’s a tough one now you might get a good boss who encourages you, but i can be confident that there may be others that, for there own reasons are resentful, thats not something I want to be part of, do you?

So to try and bring all this back together to one point, if I can, it is definitely possible to earn from the comfort of your own home as long as you are willing to have an open mind, be prepared to step out of your comfort zone by learning some new skills and also be prepared to put in the time to go along to training sessions and to do the small things each day to build your business. Oh and also are you prepared to handle that extra income that will come in if you do the small things? mmmm, what could you spend an extra £50 per month on? or the extra £500 per month on?

In fact with most mlm network marketing opportunities the earning potential is unlimited so what could you spend an extra £————– you fill in the blanks to best meet your dreams!!!!!

I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have on this subject and also appreciate any comments you may have.

Thanks again for taking the time to read our blog. Take it easy, but, make it easy!

What is risk to you?

Posted by shrinkurbill on May 15, 2010

I have recently pondered about risk, what do you determine as risky, up until just lately I seriously felt risk in just thinking about change in my circumstances.

On reflection I feel in fact there may be much more risk involved in not doing or not acting on something and just staying in the current situation. There are hundreds if not thousands or millions of people who decide as a matter of fact to remain as they are rather than take a step in another direction, after all if you try something different and it doesn’t work what is the worst that will happen?

I strongly feel the worst that can happen in a situation is that you give up ‘trying’ you give up looking at ‘another way’ or ‘another idea.’

Through the ages there have been people who have tried something different from the norm, or kept persevering at what they had felt was right, when all around them said things like ” it’ll never work,” “you’ll never succeed,” “what a daft idea” or any other countless comments as to why they feel your ‘brainstorm’ might or might not work.

I have been blessed to know that I am surrounded by people who are supportive they still may think at times i’m a bit barmy but hey they are fully entitled to that opinion, after all I think it too!

Why do the negative people feel it is their job to put down others ideas, others goals even others intentions when a huge percentage of them land right in the middle of the ‘if only things where different’ or ‘someday i’ll or someday we’ll do this or that.’

I feel life is far more rewarding and far more worthwhile just to take the odd risk just to break out of your comfort zone every once in a while. After all, we are a creature of habit and it is so so easy to get into a habit of zero productivity, maybe spending time watching TV, or playing on games or any other countless mind numbing activities.

I want to be doing things that are “goal achieving rather than tension relieving” – Denis Waitley.

Why not aim for your dreams?, why not aim for what you want for you and your family and friends?, why not try something new?, why not step out of your comfy comfort zone?, why not try something that sparks a faint glimmer of interest within you?, why not take that risk?

Isn’t life far too short not to?

Go for your dreams now – not tomorrow or next week, NOW!

What is opportunity?

Posted by shrinkurbill on April 25, 2010

After doing several internet searches for the word ‘opportunity’ I have found it means ‘favourable circumstances, advantageous situation and an occasion or time that is favourable.’

I feel we all have different ideas of what we want for our futures, what I do feel we have in common is the fact we want security and stability both of which will improve our lives regardless of the fine detail i’m sure you will agree?

How do we know if an opportunity will be the one to change our life? We must obviously be careful however at the same time we cannot afford not be willing to try something as after all how many inventions through the ages might we be without if the inventors were not willing to take a step??

I feel I am now ready to take each opportunity that each day brings after all what if one of those was a life changer, what do you think, would you be willing to take step 1 in the process of transforming your life for the better?
